| DESCRIPTION(last modified March 01, 2017 )Manx Electric Railway (MER) opened in 1893; this suburban tram line connects Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey in the Isle of Man. MER mostly runs in reserved lanes, adopting its original rolling stock.
 In the Isle of Man its also still operating a tourist horse tram (Douglas Bay Horse Tramway, opened in 1876), that interchanges with MER at Derby Castle (Douglas).
