| DESCRIPTION(last modified February 19, 2017 )Darmstadt tram opened in 1886 (initial steam tram) and from that date it has been continuosly in service; tram was electrified in 1897. The last network extensions were completed in 1979 (Jugenheim-Alsbach/Beuneweg), 2003 (Rhonring-Kranichstein Bahnhof), 2008 (Alsbach/Beuneweg-Alsbach/Melibokusschule) and 2011 (Lwwenplatz-Arheilgen/Dreieichweg.
 The current network consists in 9 lines.
