| DESCRIPTION(last modified February 19, 2017 )The original Angers tram network opened in 1896; after the second world war it was definitely closed (1949).
The first line of a modern tram network (Line A) opened on 25 June 2011 running from Avrille to Angers southern side (la Roseraie), serving some new districts (Plateaux de la Mayenne and les Capucins), besides other important urban polarities (Hospital CHU, railway station, administrative center). The track insertion involved a general urban renewal, both in the city centre and both at the 2 terminals.
