DESCRIPTION
Moscow tram opened in 1872 (initial horse tram) and it was electrified in 1899. From its opening date tram service was countinuously operated, despite some tram sections removals/closures in the city centre due to metro construction. The last tram extensions opened in 2012 (Belorusskaya-Palikha/Suschyovskaya-MIIT).
The current tram network consists in about 50 lines.
