DESCRIPTION
Metro Donostialdea is a rapid transit system connecting the city of San Sebastian (and the Donostialdea area) with Gipuzkoa and Hendaye (France). The current metro line was originally opened in 1912 (it was commonly known as "el topo") and it's operated by Euskotren since years '70s. This commuter line was renamed Metro Donostialdea and converted into an urban rapid transit system in 2012, changing its livery and improving its frequencies. An intermediate branch from Herrea to Altza was opened on September 2016.
