DESCRIPTION
Izmir Metro opened in 2000 running south west-north east; the track combines underground, elevated and ground level sections.
The system has been costantly extended (in 2012, 2014 and 2016) while further extensions are considered. Metro will interchange with a future tram line (currently under construction) at Fahrettin Altay and Halkapinar stops).
