Samara
The so-called Samarskogo Metro was opened in 1987 (Yungodorok-Pobeda section) in order to facilitate local inhabitants displacements to worksites located in Bezymyanka industrial district. In 1992 the line has been extended up to Sovetskaya and Sportivnaya, while in 1993 Sportivnaya-Gagarinskaja section took place. With USSR disgregation further extensions plans were slowed down, so that the next stop (Moscovskaya) could be opened only in 2002.
In 2007 it opened a further section (Moscovskaya-Rossiyskaya), while Rossiyskaya-Vokzalnaya and Kirovskaya-Krylya Sovetov segments are planned in middle term horizon.
