Rouen
Rouen (380.000 inhabitants) combines a north-south LRT line (the so-called Rouen Metro, mostly ground level in reserved lanes, with underground sections) to an innovative tram-on-tyres system with optical guidance (TEOR); the latter is articulated in 3 lines (T1, T2, T3).
Rouen Metro is constituded by 2 lines: they run separately south of Seine river (Saint-Etienne du Rouvray-Technopole and Grand Quevilly-Georges Braque branches, mostly ground level in reserved lanes, with 3 short tunnel section below the street level), then they merge in an unique section from Saint Severe to Boulingrin terminal (north of Seine river).
This common section has a first underground stop south of Seine (Joffre Mutualitè), then it crosses the river on an existing bridge and proceedes underground to emerge just before Boulingrin terminal. Among the main urban polarity served by the system, Palais de Justice, Theatre des Arts, Technopole and Gare Rue Verte railway station can be mentioned.
TEOR system opened in 2001. It interchanges with Rouen Metro at Boulingrin (T1) and Theatre des Arts (T1, T2, T3). T1, T2,T3 share a central section from Mont Riboudet to Saint Hilaire before branching in different directions.
