Minimetro first line (from Pian di Massiano to Pincetto, with 5 intermediate stops in Stazione Cortonese, Madonna Alta, Fontivegge, Case Bruciate, Cupa) opened in Perugia on 29-01-2008; this new line has become an easier way to get directly to the city center.
Most of the stops, desiged by architect Jean Nouvel, are multi-level (also the underground stops of Pincetto and Cupa); vehicles get traction from a cable ring moved by an electric winch.
The total cost of the first phase of Minimetro has been about 95 M Euro.
