MILAN
Milan
Milan bases its public transport network on 3 heavy metro lines (line M1 sine 1964, line M2 since 1969, linea M3 since 1990), integrated by ground level tramways and modern LRT lines (the so-called metrotranvie, in reserved lanes with underground sections).
Among all these main lines, there's also a complementary cable people-mover connecting S. Raffaele Hospital to metro M2 (Cascina Gobba stop), in the north-eastern part of the town.
The automated single track people-mover (total length 700 m) allows a rapid interchange with metro M2 stop thanks to a direct footway above the motorway. Both of the stops (Cascina Gobba - ground level - and S. Raffaele -underground -) parking areas offer interesting modal change (metro/car) opportunities.
