Malaga
The construction of Malaga LRT system was launched at the beginning of 2006. This new network (mostly underground) will be articulated in 2 lines (11 km), which will share a common central section (about 3 km long) from Malagueta to Guadalmedina. Line 1 will run west up to Teatinos, Line 2 will reach (along the coast) Martin Carpen in the south-western part of the town.
Among the most important urban polarities served by this system, Ciudad de la Justicia, Palacio de Deportes, the harbour, RENFE railway station, Hospital Clinico and Istituto Nacional de Meteorologia must be mentioned, as well as the very central areas of Plaza de Toros, Explanada de la Marina and Avenida de Andalucia.
Line 1 could be extended up to Campanillas and Parque Tecnologico de Andalucia, Line 2 up to the Airport; it's also expected in the future a third line, with an eastern route starting from Malaguena
