Eindhoven
Eindhoven (200.000 inhabitants) is the fifth more populated Dutch city. Its transport network exclusively based on buses has shown in the years many lacks, increased by the growt of the western district of Meerhoven (20.000 inhabitants). Local authority considered the urban rank too small to introduce an heavy guided transport system (like metro or tramway) and decided to launch an innovative network based on trams-on-tyre with magnetical guidance. The network is articulated in 2 lines ((line 401: Central Station-Eindhoven Airport; line 402: Central Station-Veldhoven) opened at the end of 2004.
NOTE: the adoption of magnetic guidance is currently suspended
