Craiova opened its tram network in 1987; the system connects Thermocentrala (thermic power station) to the elder Oltcit (now Daewoo) car factory, and it is articulated in 3 lines (Line 100: PECO Severinului-Pasaj Electroputere, Line 101: CLF-Pasaj Electroputere-Daewoo, Line 102: TERMO-Pasaj Electroputere-Daewoo). The tramway connects the city center (Universitate, Piata Centrala and Institut stops must be mentioned) to important peripherical industrial areas at both terminals.
