Bergen
In Bergen executive studies are going on from 2000 to project a modern LRT line in order to connect the city center to the airport; first phase (city center-Nesttun, 10 km) is expected to be opened in 2009, while the whole line (extended up to Bergen airport at Flesland) could be completed in 2014. Because of line route involves 25% of local population, the ridership forecasts is remarkable (40.000-50.000 pax/day, 26.000 in the first phase); the average stops distance (about 800 m) and the system priority in road crossing will allow high commercial speed.
In 1994 it was also re-opened a short section of the elder tramway network, dismissed in the years '60s, whose tracks are still partly visible along some of the streets. The short line (only 300 m) runs inside Bergen Technical Museum (located in operates in Mohlenpris); it's under examination the choice to extend the recovering of other segments of the old infrastructure.
