Warszawa
Warszawa opened its first metro line in 1995 (Line 1, 19 km, 18 stops), with Kabaty-Politechnika section; further extensions were completed in 1998, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2008. The north-south track (running in the western side of Wista River) interchanges with the railway network at Centrum (close to Srodmescie PKP railway station) and Dworzec Gdanski stops. A northern extension (Slodowiec-Mlociny, 3 km with other 3 stops) opened on 25 October 2008.
Long term plans are considering other two lines: Line 2 running from Chrzanow (west) to Rembielinska (north-east) which will cross Line 1 and Wista River close to Swietokrzyska stop, Line 3 running in the eastern side of Wista River from Praga Centrum to Wilga.
