Ankara
Ankara, Turkish capital, has a transport network based on a LRT line (Ankaray), a driverless metro line and a suburban railway system; other 3 metro lines are currently under construction, while other expansions are in advanced planning phase.
The LRT line (Ankaray) was built from 1992 to 1996; it's currently 8.7 km long (8 in deep tunnel), running from Ankara Intercity Bus Terminal (ASTI-Ankara Sehirlerarasi Terminal Isletmesi) to Dikimevi. It's expected a remarkable extension to be completed in 2015, reaching the total lenght of 22 km.
An automated metro line opened in 1997, with a 15 km long track from Kizilay (in the city center) to Batikent north-western suburb. Other 3 branches are currently under construction: Kizilay–Cayyolu (18 km), Batikent–Sincan (18 km), Ulus–Kecioren (7.9 km), while a further 4.8 km extension (TBMM–Dikmen) is considered.
